Desktop Creeper

My husband and I both love playing Minecraft. Currently, we are trying out the Feed The Beast modpack (The MindCrack Pack). It’s a great modpack because it has elements that appeal to both of us. My husband loves to tinker around with redstone and machines, so he has tons of fun playing around with the Buildcraft and Industrialcraft stuff. I love doing large builds, so all the new block types are fabulous for me. I’m also loving the bee breeding and Thaumcraft.

After seeing the Creeper beanie that Crochet Cricket made, I wanted to make something Minecraft themed. So I attempted to make a mini creeper to decorate the computer desk area. Key word in that sentence being attempted.

But you always learn from your mistakes. This is what went wrong and what I can try to avoid if I make another in the future.

1) Since I was using up a scrap ball of green, I got to the bottom of the body and realized I didn’t have enough yarn left to make the feet. Need more yarn!

2) I made the body too long. Perhaps, it’s for the best that I didn’t have enough yarn for the feet, because he is currently the correct height (head to the rest of the body ratio). Next time I would have to make the body much shorter to have the creeper the correct height when he has feet.

3) A different colour of green would probably be best. The green I used is a little dark for the creeper. A yarn that is a green/light green blend would be the best I think.

Currently, Mr. Creeper is sitting on my desk being useful as a yarn needle pin cushion. 😀 It’s nice to get some payback for all the building damage that his relatives have inflicted upon me.
