My sister wrote her own pattern for Mario Mushrooms and had me test it for her. I made three different mushrooms and they all turned out great. I think she plans to put this pattern online in the future.
I made this as a request for a friend. It look a while to figure out how I was going to make it, but I think it turned out pretty good in the end. 😀
I started by making grabbing some graph paper and making turning the shield into pixels (each pixel would be one single crochet stitch). I started at the bottom of the shield and working my way up while crocheting. I placed my increases in the grey border so it wouldn’t distort the design on the middle of the shield. I needed to make a bunch of the increases double crochets so that I would be crocheting in a straight line instead of in an arch formed by the increases.
Last time I used my charcoal pencils was before the baby was born. I was itching to do something creative tonight other than crochet, so out came the sketchpad.
Sheik is my favourite character to use when playing Super Smash Bros games. I wanted to give Sheik a little bit more of a feminine look than she usually has.
Anyone else love the Super Smash Bros games? Who’s your favourite character?
So I’ve been playing around a bit with my Princess Zelda pattern. I was wondering if anyone would like to test the pattern and give me some feedback on it. Just leave me a comment if you are interested. 🙂
UPDATE: Princess Zelda will now be available for free on Ravelry. The pattern isn’t the best. It was done when I was still new to crochet. It was only my second amigurumi and the very first time I tried to make something without a pattern. I’ve gotten a lot better since then and maybe one day I will revisit the idea of making another Princess Zelda. 🙂

I always find that weekends are the busiest for me. I get the most house cleaning, cooking, baking and laundry done then, while my husband is home and can watch the baby. I did manage to get a bit of crocheting done this weekend though. I’ve started two projects. 1) I’m testing a pattern for a fellow blogger Kairyk Crochets and 2) I’ve started this Legend of Zelda Text Scarf.
I’m about halfway done the scarf right now. It says “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.” and it has a little sword on each end of the scarf. I think that when I am done this scarf I’ll put it up on my Etsy shop, if it turns out as well as I think it will. 😀
