Hylian Shield Pillow

I made this as a request for a friend. It look a while to figure out how I was going to make it, but I think it turned out pretty good in the end. 😀 

I started by making grabbing some graph paper and making turning the shield into pixels (each pixel would be one single crochet stitch). I started at the bottom of the shield and working my way up while crocheting. I placed my increases in the grey border so it wouldn’t distort the design on the middle of the shield. I needed to make a bunch of the increases double crochets so that I would be crocheting in a straight line instead of in an arch formed by the increases.

 

Photoshoot! Zelda Scarf

So I just got my husband to take some pictures of me with the Zelda scarf so that I can get it up and listed on Etsy. I finished the Baby Belle doll last night, so I need to take pictures of that and send that with my notes to Kairyk. Next on the list? I SHOULD start on the Jigglypuff doll….but I REALLY want to make a Ariel doll right now. We’ll see what I do. 🙂

Zelda Text Scarf- Complete!

I just finished the Zelda scarf that I was working on. I think I’ll get my husband to take some pictures tomorrow of me modeling it outside. Once I get some decent pictures of it, I plan to add it to my Etsy shop.

The scarf reads, “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.”

Busy Weekend! – Zelda Text Scarf

I always find that weekends are the busiest for me. I get the most house cleaning, cooking, baking and laundry done then, while my husband is home and can watch the baby. I did manage to get a bit of crocheting done this weekend though. I’ve started two projects. 1) I’m testing a pattern for a fellow blogger Kairyk Crochets and 2) I’ve started this Legend of Zelda Text Scarf.

I’m about halfway done the scarf right now. It says “It’s dangerous to go alone! Take this.” and it has a little sword on each end of the scarf. I think that when I am done this scarf I’ll put it up on my Etsy shop, if it turns out as well as I think it will. 😀

Kokori Emerald Crochet Picture

So I worked a few row up after completing the Triforce picture when I started getting bored. I wanted to keep practicing pictures and I wanted to try something more challenging with three colours. So, I decided to add the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time spiritual stones to the scarf.

I graphed out all three spiritual stones. The first two were pretty easy, but for some reason to took me quite a bit to get the Zora Sapphire right.

I completed the Kokori Emerald, only to discover that I have no red or blue yarn that would be suitable for the other two stones. Looks like this project is put on hold until we have some extra money in the house. With all the car and house insurances coming in right now, we are stretched a little tight. No money for recreation or hobbies, though if I asked my husband he’d probably disagree. He’s like a teenage girl with her first credit card, and I’m Ebenezer Scrooge. 😛
